The Creation Story
I wanted to share with you the personal creation story behind our software in the hopes that you will be inspired to read aloud to your children as often as you can and to preserve the experience of story time together for future generations to enjoy.
When I was 6 years old my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She lived far beyond the expectations of the doctors, but lost her battle in 1998.
Unfortunately, my mother did not like having her picture taken. She often said that we should remember her for who she was on the inside and not for the sick body that housed her.
One of her favorite things was reading Winnie the Pooh aloud to my first daughter Katie. After her passing I realized we had very few photographs of her, one of which is them reading aloud together.
Had my mom had the ability to preserve that moment through her voice, all of my children would have known her through the magic of story time. They would have all known and felt her love and her spirit throughout their lives. Therefore, the Read-Along With Me software was created in loving memory of my mother, so that every child can experience story time with their grandma, even when she can no longer be there in person.
